Hollywood actor, Michael Mantenuto died on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the age of 35. Announcing his death,  U.S. Army Col. Guillaume Beaurpere wrote in a Facebook post  on Wednesday  that Mantenuto sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  "Those of you that knew Mike will remember him for his passionate love for his family and his commitment to the health of the force," he wrote.                                                                           Follow @cool_jist

An apartment in Brooklyn that was onetime the home of former President Barack Obama is on the market for $4.3 million. The ad for the 5-bedroom home on the real estate website Zillow reads,  "Rush to this noteworthy home forever stamped with a historical footprint. The unique distinction of being the residence of President Obama after he graduated Columbia University." Obama lived on a floor of the townhouse with his girlfriend in the 1980s. Yesterday was a bad day for LG Nigeria and their neighbors, Bedmate furniture as the building caught fire. The showroom located at New Road, Cheveron Drive caught fire at about  3pm  and didn't stop till  10pm .  According to the LG staff, the fire escalated due to slow response of the Chevron Drive fire fighters team. Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, yesterday April 27th, disclosed that the introduction of the whistle-blower policy by the federal government has led to the recovery of about N17billion by the Commission. For Isaac Vatkin, 91, and his wife, Teresa Vatkin, 89, even death would not do them part, as Isaac followed minutes after his wife gave up the ghost last weekend. The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted former First lady, Patience Jonathan, unrestrained access to her recently unfrozen $5.9 million. The court had on April 6th unfrozen the money which was earlier seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who suspected that the funds found in a Skye bank account were proceeds from financial crimes.                                                                                                 Follow @cool_jist

A 45 year old man has been rescued after he allegedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping into a well at a residence in Kujore street in the Ojota area of Lagos state today April 25th. Men of the Lagos state Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) were alerted at about 6am this morning after the man jumped into the 116 feet well. Although he did not die, the man sustained a fracture on his hand. He was taken to the hospital for treatment by officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service. Follow @cool_jist

The North Korean government has arrested and detained an American professor at the Pyongyang International airport as the professor, surnamed Kim, was about leaving the Asian country. Despite Doctor's warnings,conjoined twins refuse to be separated  When conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade were born, doctors said they only had three days to live. The conjoined twins who are now 16, originally born in Mexico and now live in New Milford, Connecticut, defied those odds and lived far past doctors’ expectations. Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that Nigerians did not elect General Muhammadu Buhari to function as “Friday President”, adding that he (Buhari) was now acting more like ceremonial and part-time President. A baby boy was miraculously saved from death after he was pulled out of a shallow grave where he was buried by his 25-year-old South African mother. On Thursday, angry youths in Ikpayongo, mounted a road block along Makurdi/Otukpo road in protest over the killing of their people by suspected herdsmen.
