Iran's incumbent President Hassan Rouhani has been declared the winner of the 2017 presidential election. The announcement was made by Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmanifazli on the state TV this morning. He said that after counting all of the votes in  Friday's  poll, Rouhani who first took office in 2013 was re-elected for his second term by winning 57 percent vote.                                                                                                                                                                               ...

A couple were seen having sex outside a busy block of flats in the full glare of the public in broad daylight and the unashamed couple did not try to be discreet. Neighbors looked on in shock as they went at it for about 15 minutes by a set of stairs  on Saturday . A male suicide bomber was the only one that died when he attempted to attack a hostel in the University of Maiduguri UNIMAID campus this morning. This incident comes barely 24 hours after three suicide bombers lost their lives in a failed attempt to attack a female hostel in the university. In a new report, BBC is alleging that the Federal government paid 2 million euros and released 5 imprisoned Boko Haram bomb makers in exchange for the 82 Chibok school girls released on May 6th.  The Federal government has however not denied claims that there were negotiation with the sect members for the release of the girls.  However the details of the negotiations were not clearly                                                                                              stated.                                                                         ...

O peratives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 39-year-old man, Victor Akagha, a native of Owerri in Imo state, for sleeping with 4 secondary school boys he lured into gay relationship. According to a statement released by RRS, Victor who lives in Lagos, was ambushed at the victim’s school, where he came to pick him with his car. The Bauchi State Police Command  on Wednesday  paraded suspected armed robbers arrested in various part of the state. 74-year-old Puerto Rican nationalist, Oscar Lopez Rivera has been released from house arrest after 36 years in custody, in a case that transformed him into a martyr. Lopez was considered a top leader of Puerto Rican militant group that said it was responsible for more than 100 bombings in several U.S. cities and Puerto Rico during the 1970s and early 1980s. The attacks killed six people and wounded scores. He wasn't convicted of any role in the bombings. But those who lost loved ones held him responsible. Follow @cool_jist

The sad incident happened in Gboko community in Benue state. According to Apiah Ephraim who shared the sad story online, a woman abandoned a baby inside a gutter along Gyado Junction - Yandev express way in Gboko on Monday May 15th. Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, has threatened to leave PDP if the Supreme court rules in favor of factional leader of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff, on May 25th. A 35 year old Muslim cleric, Sheik Yusuf Amzat-Salam, his wife and four children have been stabbed to death by unknown assailants at their home at the Atiba area of Odogbolu Local Government Area in Ogun state today May 16th. According to the state police command, Sheik Amzat-Salam, his wife, their 11 year old daughter, eight year old set of twin boys and their last child, a 2 year old daughter, were found in the pool of their blood with serious stab wounds.                                                                                                                                                       ...

Operatives of the X-squad unit of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two fake Naval officers and their accomplice, a tailor who makes their fake uniform.
