Lebanese lawmakers  on Wednesday  took the first step to overturn a law that allows rapists to avoid punishment if they marry their victims. Article 522 of the penal code states that if a man rapes an unmarried woman, he can avoid prosecution for the crime if he marries the victim. Two persons reportedly died in Tia and Bodo City in Gokana and Tia local government areas of Rivers State during the rerun election for national and state assemblies held yesterday, Dec. 10th. Nicky Morgan who represents Loughborough constituency in the British parliament drew the ire of political bigwigs when she publicly criticised the Prime Minister, Theresa May for wearing £995 leather trousers. Fire gutted the only ultra modern shopping mall in Benin, Edo State last night. Managing Director of the Super Mart Mr Philip Edigin said that the fire started at about 12 mid night. He disclosed that all effort to get the State fire service to come to their rescue proved abortive as the fire service told him they have no diesel to work.
