Herbalist remanded in prison for defrauding pregnant woman of N100,000              An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded a 48-year old native doctor, Kayode Korede-Kuye, in Kirikiri Prisons for obtaining N100,000 on the pretext of preparing concoction for a pregnant woman. The Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, remanded the accused in prison after he pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of obtaining the money by false pretence and stealing. Photo: 11-year-girl suffers from rare skin condition allegedly caused by soft drink Ho Thi Kieu Anh,11, from the central province of Quang Binh, Vietnam was diagnosed with a rare skin condition soon after consuming a bottle of soft drink, Tuoi Tre newspaper reports. Anh was admitted to the hospital on November with the top layer of her skin peeling off. Her family said two hours after she took the soft drink, her skin became swollen as if she was being burnt. FG slashes MTN fine over SIM cards disconnections              The Nigerian Communications Commission has sharply reduced a hefty penalty slapped on South African telecoms giant MTN over unregistered SIM cards, the company said on Thursday. The Commission is now looking for a fine of $3.4 billion (3.2 billion euros), down from an earlier $5.2 billion, after negotiations with the regulator, it said.   Read More>>

57 year old man dies onboard an Arik Air flight According to multiple reports, a 57 year old man identified as Albert Nnadi died on-board an Arik Air Flight that was heading to Lagos from Owerri yesterday December 2nd. The man was on his way to Lagos for medical attention when he was found dead as the passengers were disembarking from the plane after landing in Lagos. Arik Air confirmed the incident happened and said the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Mortuary.

Oscar Pistorius guilty of murder after manslaughter conviction overturned by Court of Appeal                     South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal overruled the athlete's original conviction of 'culpable homicide' and he now faces being sent back to jail.
