Man sucked out of a hole created by blast on board Somalian aeroplane A passenger was apparently sucked out of a Daallo Airlines plane after a blast on board left a huge hole on the side of the aircraft. The flight was headed to Djibouti from Mogadishu, Somalia when the explosion occurred on 2 February. The pilot, however, successfully managed to land the aircraft safely. Read more »

Photo: Lebanese bags 2 years for Issuance of dud cheque A Lebanese man identified as Hussien Tahir, has been convicted and sentenced to twenty four months imprisonment for Issuance of N 22 million dud cheque. According to a statement by EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwajare, the convict, who was arraigned on October 15, 2014, had in 2009 approached the complainant with a proposal to jointly fund the execution of a capital project which he claimed was awarded to him by the Nigeria Customs Service. Bristow helicopter crashes in Lagos, all occupants reportedly survive A Bristow helicopter crashed inward the Murtala Mohammed International Airport this morning Feb. 3rd. All 11 passengers on-board survived as they all floated on water with the help of their life jackets This incident comes a few months after a Bristow helicopter crashed in August 2015 at the Oworonshoki end of the Lagos Lagoon. That incident claimed 6 lives.

Sri Lankan doctor killed husband with hammer after they had a three some sex with a teenager Chamari Liyanage allegedly bashed her husband Dinendra Athukorala to death with a 1.79kg hammer in the couple's bed, fearing he would reveal they were having sex with a teenager. After killing her husband, she called the police. When police arrived the scene, they found her curled beside the dead body which was lying on the mattress covered in blood, which had splattered over the wall and blinds above him. Read more »

Amaechi Says Corruption allegation against him is without proof Minister of Transport and former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, says all the allegations of corruption leveled against him by his successor, Nyesom Wike and the past government, are without proof. According to him, he suffered a lot in the hands of EFCC as the governor of Rivers State. Amaechi said this while delivering a lecture titled “Legislature and Executive Partnership for Effective Performance,” at a retreat for the executive arms of Plateau State government held at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, yesterday February 2nd. Witness says NIMASA paid him N905million for contracts he did not execute A witness in the ongoing trial of former NIMASA DG, Patrick Akpobolokemi and six others in a N2.3 billion fraud, yesterday told the court of how he received N905, 800, 000 from NIMASA for a contract he did not execute. The witness according to  Tribune , Uche Obilor who is the Managing Director of three companies, Ace Prosthesis Limited, Seabulk Offshore Limited and Southern Offshore Limited told the court that the money was paid into his companies’ two bank accounts even though he did not tender any proposal or carry out any contract for NIMASA. Wiz Khalifa opens up about Kanye's apology Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West had some serious Twitter beef recently, but all of that has been resolved. On Tuesday afternoon, Kanye tweeted "Me and Wiz spoke yesterday," he shared on social media. "Great convo. All positive." What else, Kanye?! but didn't elaborate on how it went down. Luckily, Wiz opened up a little more about what went down with 'Ye during an interview with Angie Martinez for Power 105.1 yesterday.

Photos: 2 Nigerians among money mules jailed in the UK for defrauding a company of £3.8 million A group of money mules who helped defraud Wonga of £3.8 million by having cash-funneled into their accounts have been jailed, one in absentia because he fled to Nigeria. Over a 14-month period starting in April 2012, over 19,000 fraudulent loan applications totalling £6.2 million were submitted to the company using stolen identities.  Read more »

Photos: Danish woman rescues little boy accused of withcraft and left to die in Uyo On Sunday, a Danish woman, Anja Ringgren Loven, a Philanthropist an founder of African Children's Aid Education and Development Foundation ( ACAEDF) who lives with her partner and son in Uyo rescued a little boy who had been abandoned by his family because they claimed he was a 'witch'. She took him into her care, fed him, gave him clothes and he is currently receiving some medical attention. This was what she shared on her Facebook page. Read more »
