  Plane with 500 Nigerians deported from the UK arrives in Lagos 500 Nigerians have been deported from the United Kingdom and arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos this morning. Many of them were deported for illegal stay permits. When interviewed, one of them said he was arrested by British police and was not allowed to even take his belongings before being deported. Feng Molin's mother has been blind since childhood and when his father lost his sight in 2006 after suffering acute meningitis, the then 4-year-old from northwest China's Shaaanxi Province, had to start taking care of them. Rescued from behind enemy lines: Russian pilot who was feared captured by Syrian rebels after his jet was shot down by Turkey is 'alive and well' after dramatic 12-hour mission to save him Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed that one of the two pilots who ejected from the downed jet is now in the care of the Syrian army and has been taken to Russia's base there. Putin's statement came after Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told Russian news agencies that the pilot, identified on Twitter as Aleksandr Akhmadulin, is now 'safe and sound' at the air base. The details of how the second pilot ended up in the hands of the Syrian army - not to be confused with rebel group Free Syrian Army - are still unclear, but Mr Shoigu said he was rescued in a 12-hour operation which ended in the early hours on Wednesday. Burglar arrested while chilling out in victim’s house   A 28-year-old burglary suspect, Olamilekan Olaoluwa, has been arrested by policemen from the Iponri division after breaking into a house in the Ebute-Meta area of Lagos State. The Kwara State indigene was said to have broken into a two-bedroomed flat on Brickfield Road on Sunday around 2pm, while the occupant was away. Olaoluwa, a secondary school dropout, removed a Plasma TV from the wall where it was hung and packed the clothes, wristwatches and a handset of his victim.     Read More>>

The vile doorman - later convicted of possessing animal and child pornography - was let off his curfew despite destroying the lives of his passengers Amy Baxter (near right), 28, and her friend Hayley Jones (far right), 32, in a high-speed crash after spending the night drinking. Miss Baxter (centre inset), who had half her skull removed, is still in hospital 16 months after the horrific collision. She did not see her children, aged eight and ten, for seven months because her head injuries were too distressing. World leaders scramble to defuse 'monstrous' new crisis over Russia's downed jet: Putin ratchets the tension by dispatching warship to Mediterranean as Moscow expert warns war is 'likely' Vladimir Putin has broken off any military contact with Turkey in the fight against ISIS and is deploying a warship, with an air defence system, to the Mediterranean Sea. The cruiser will destroy 'any targets representing a potential danger' to Russian forces in Syria, as a leading Moscow military analyst said war was 'most likely'. Britain has up to 12 Typhoon warplanes - designed for air-to-air combat - on standby to support Turkey in any revenge attack by Putin's forces. President Barack Obama also pledged America's support for Turkey following a phone call with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull today said the potential repercussions of the incident is 'a matter of great concern'.

NYSC DG says the ban on wearing of hijab in camps will not be lifted Members of Muslim Youths in Da’wah on Tuesday had a peaceful protest at the headquarters of the National Youth Service Corps in Abuja against the ban on the use of hijab by female Muslim corps members, especially during orientation camps.
