Two Borno LG officials sentenced to one year in prison for selling 180 bags of rice donated to IDPs

Federal High Court in Maiduguri  on Thursday  sentenced two local government officials to one year in prison and N1 million fine each for selling 180 bags of rice meant for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The convicts, Bulama Zangebe, a counsellor and Modu Bulama, a storekeeper, both with Mafa Local Government Council of Borno were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a two-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy and criminal misappropriation.                                                                           Follow @cool_jist

Alitalia Italian government National airline carrier is up for sale

According to Italy's economic development minister, Carlo Calenda the government of Italy will begin accepting offers for it's struggling national carrier in the next 15 days. The airline, Alitalia has been in a downward spiral for years, and at this stage no rival has stepped forward to publicly express interest in a deal.
