Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, were today arraigned before an Abuja High Court over their alleged complicity in forgery of the Senate Standing Rules. The two lawmakers who took turns and pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge preferred against them by the federal government, were granted bail and met the conditions set before leaving the court premises. Canadian mixed martial artist, and seven-fight UFC veteran, Ryan Jimmo has died due to injuries sustained from a hit-and-run incident in a nightclub parking lot in Canada in the early morning hours of June 26.  Jimmo was involved in an altercation at around  2:15 a.m. , in the parking lot of the H2O Lounge in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Justice Okon Abang of a Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, to vacate his office immediately, after finding him guilty of submitting fake tax clearance document to the PDP during the party's governorship primary in December 2014. Ikpeazu's rival at the primary, Uche Ogah, had petitioned the court and provided evidence to show that Ikpeazu had indeed provided fake tax clearance to their party. MSF Sea and the Italian Navy have rescued about 1700 African migrants, including small children and babies from dozens of small boats in the Mediterranean during the course of Thursday, June 23. Many of the unseaworthy rubber boats were spotted about 40km from the coast. Over 22 people have died and 197,000 people evacuated after a week of continuous heavy downpour in Southern China. The Heavy Rains triggered severe floods, landslides, mud flows across southern China and according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, more than 2,400 homes & 20,900 hectares of crops have been destroyed.
