Passengers traveling by road to various cities in the country have been told to brace up for an increase in fares effective  September 19, 2016 . The transporters under the aegis of Association of Private Transport Company Owners of Nigeria (APTCON) made the announcement in a recent notice to its members.  The group said that it was constrained to mark up transport fares by 40 per cent because of the prevailing harsh operating business environment which has seen cost of operations rise by more than 80 per cent.                                                                                                                                ...

EFCC operatives have reportedly written to the Department of State Security requesting for permission to interrogate some of the security aides of former First lady, Patience Jonathan who is currently involved in a $15 million scandal. The antigraft agency believe that the security aides of Mrs Jonathan helped deposit cash into the controversial accounts of companies that have been linked to her and are under investigation for money laundering and fraud. A 13-year-old black boy has been shot dead by a white Ohio police officer for pulling out a toy gun while he was being chased after a $10 theft.
