The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted former First lady, Patience Jonathan, unrestrained access to her recently unfrozen $5.9 million. The court had on April 6th unfrozen the money which was earlier seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who suspected that the funds found in a Skye bank account were proceeds from financial crimes.                                                                                                 Follow @cool_jist

A 45 year old man has been rescued after he allegedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping into a well at a residence in Kujore street in the Ojota area of Lagos state today April 25th. Men of the Lagos state Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) were alerted at about 6am this morning after the man jumped into the 116 feet well. Although he did not die, the man sustained a fracture on his hand. He was taken to the hospital for treatment by officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service. Follow @cool_jist

The North Korean government has arrested and detained an American professor at the Pyongyang International airport as the professor, surnamed Kim, was about leaving the Asian country. Despite Doctor's warnings,conjoined twins refuse to be separated  When conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade were born, doctors said they only had three days to live. The conjoined twins who are now 16, originally born in Mexico and now live in New Milford, Connecticut, defied those odds and lived far past doctors’ expectations. Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that Nigerians did not elect General Muhammadu Buhari to function as “Friday President”, adding that he (Buhari) was now acting more like ceremonial and part-time President. A baby boy was miraculously saved from death after he was pulled out of a shallow grave where he was buried by his 25-year-old South African mother. On Thursday, angry youths in Ikpayongo, mounted a road block along Makurdi/Otukpo road in protest over the killing of their people by suspected herdsmen. The Police in Katsina state have arrested a 46 year old man, Ishaku Inusa, for slitting the throat of a commercial motorcyclist (okadaman) in Knakara local government area in the state following an argument over his unpaid fare. Russia's Supreme Court on Thursday declared Jehovah's Witness as an extremist organization and ordered the state to seize its property in Russia. The court, after six days of hearings, ordered the closing of the group’s Russia headquarters and its 395 local chapters.
