O peratives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 39-year-old man, Victor Akagha, a native of Owerri in Imo state, for sleeping with 4 secondary school boys he lured into gay relationship. According to a statement released by RRS, Victor who lives in Lagos, was ambushed at the victim’s school, where he came to pick him with his car. The Bauchi State Police Command  on Wednesday  paraded suspected armed robbers arrested in various part of the state. Briefing newsmen at the Command Headquarters, the Commissioner of Police, Garba Baba Umar said that on May 10th, police detectives attached to Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate in collaboration with neighborhood watch at Madina quarters arrested members of an armed robbery gang. 74-year-old Puerto Rican nationalist, Oscar Lopez Rivera has been released from house arrest after 36 years in custody, in a case that transformed him into a martyr. Lopez was considered a top leader of Puerto Rican militant group that said it was responsible for more than 100 bombings in several U.S. cities and Puerto Rico during the 1970s and early 1980s. The attacks killed six people and wounded scores. He wasn't convicted of any role in the bombings. But those who lost loved ones held him responsible. Follow @cool_jist

The sad incident happened in Gboko community in Benue state. According to Apiah Ephraim who shared the sad story online, a woman abandoned a baby inside a gutter along Gyado Junction - Yandev express way in Gboko on Monday May 15th. Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, has threatened to leave PDP if the Supreme court rules in favor of factional leader of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff, on May 25th. A 35 year old Muslim cleric, Sheik Yusuf Amzat-Salam, his wife and four children have been stabbed to death by unknown assailants at their home at the Atiba area of Odogbolu Local Government Area in Ogun state today May 16th. According to the state police command, Sheik Amzat-Salam, his wife, their 11 year old daughter, eight year old set of twin boys and their last child, a 2 year old daughter, were found in the pool of their blood with serious stab wounds.                                                                                                                                                       ...

Nigeria is a land of opportunity. And I do not mean this the way Nigerian politicians usually mean it, as a cliched speech for the campaign trail. I mean this from the bottom of my heart because it is true and I have benefited from it and I can prove it.   Nigeria ought to change her educational model. Our educational system is still by and large a colonial model where the occupying colonial power merely trained a select few natives for the purpose of having clerks and translators to run their exploitative government. Graphic photos : Ghastly auto accident in Abuja leaves passengers terribly injured  A ghastly motor accident occurred early this morning in Abuja, leaving passengers bloodied. The passengers had reportedly been travelling from Minna, Niger state to Abuja when the sad incident occurred. Thankfully, no one was reported dead in the accident. There was drama at an Ikeja High Court today after a witness who was scheduled to testify in a Land dispute case, suddenly slumped, started vomiting and then died within the court premises.
