A Nigerian man was on Wednesday, June 7th, formally charged with arson in a pair of fires set inside the Etowah County Detention Center, in Alabama, United States. Okiemute Omatie, 22, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainee has been charged with one count of first-degree arson and one count of destruction of state property, in connection with the fire incident within the middle's Unit three on Friday, May 26.                                                                                Read more >> Follow @cool_jist

The Saudi authorities have banned football fans from wearing Barcelona shirt which is being sponsored by Qatar Airways, with a possible 15-year prison sentence and £120,000 fine if anyone is caught. The ban comes after Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Libya, Yemen and the Maldives cut off all ties with its neighbor, after they accused Qatar of supporting extremist groups. The Inspector-General’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT) led by ACP Abba Kyari, has arrested one of the most wanted kidnappers in Nigeria, Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike a.k.a Evans. According to reports, Evans who is a native of Nnwei in Nnwei North LGA of Anambra state, was arrested at his Magodo residence in Lagos today. The leaders of the Northern Elders Forum NEF, have distanced themselves from the comments made by their spokesperson Abdullahi Ango, on the controversial ultimatum some Northern Youths gave to Igbos residing in the region. Ango at a press conference in Kaduna state yesterday, claimed the elders were in total support of the youths. Google has unveiled the final plans for their luxury £1billion UK headquarters. The 870,000 sq ft building planned for Kings Cross in London will be the first office the tech giant has designed for itself outside California. Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE (OPDS) on Tuesday ambushed a gang of sea robbers/kidnappers along KM-45 AWOBA Waterways in Rivers State. During the ambush operation, 4 robbers met their Waterloo. Items recovered include; 2× AK-47 rifles, quantity 3× AK-47 magazines, quantity 22 ammunitions and one-speed boat mounted with one 200 Horse-Power engine. One Captain Chris Ndukwe Oshuoha has been killed by Sea pirates. Details surrounding his death are still sketchy, however, according to friends and family, he was reportedly captured by the pirates while on duty at sea and murdered. Two commercial sex workers in Ogun state have been arrested by the state police command for allegedly killing one of their customers, Adeyinka Olayinka, at the KS Hotel, Ifo yesterday May 30th. Nigerians have rated the performances of President Buhari led administration as poor in a poll conducted by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. The online poll recorded about 14, 532 votes with 50% of the respondents rating the administration as poor; 35% rated the administration as average while 11% voted for excellent. 3% of the respondents were indifferent. The Australian Government has revealed that convicted paedophiles would be denied passports in a bid to protect children from being abused outside its country.
