Drink driver Jon Morton who left two women paralysed after crash is spared electronic tag

Magistrates sparked outrage by allowing tattooed bouncer Jon Morton (left, circled), 32, of Bolton, Greater Manchester, to remove his electronic tag so he could join friends in Portugal. The vile doorman - later convicted of possessing animal and child pornography - was let off his curfew despite destroying the lives of his passengers Amy Baxter (near right), 28, and her friend Hayley Jones (far right), 32, in a high-speed crash after spending the night drinking. Miss Baxter (centre inset), who had half her skull removed, is still in hospital 16 months after the horrific collision. She did not see her children, aged eight and ten, for seven months because her head injuries were too distressing. Miss Jones, who broke her neck and back, is paralysed from the chest down.
