France's Ligue 1 resumed amid heightened security on Friday
night as Nice took on Lyon, a week on from the terrorist attacks that
claimed the lives of 129 people. Action in the French top flight made
its return at the Allianz Riviera - one of the stadiums set to host
games at next summer's European Championship - as fans held candles
before kick-off in memory of those who died and a minute's silence was
observed (main image). Fans were searched on entering the stadium
(bottom left and right) while across Europe, Hamburg flew a French flag
ahead of their game with Borussia Dortmund and security at the Bernebeu
brought in sniffer dogs ahead of Real Madrid vs Barcelona tomorrow.
