Welcome to Megabasement Street: The cul-de-sac in Chelsea where SIX super-rich homeowners are all having underground extensions in a bid to add £300,000 to the value of their properties
One in 10 houses in Seymour Walk, a quiet cul-de-sac in Chelsea,
will be undergoing major building works over the next few months. Many
residents have expressed concerns that that the historic road will be
'blighted' by the works, with some even suggesting that their garden
walls will be likely to collapse. However, the local council has waved
through planning permission for all six properties - despite pledging to
crack down on the epidemic of 'iceberg' basements in the Kensington and
Chelsea area
